About The
Africa Food Prize
The Africa Food Prize is a preeminent award that recognizes outstanding individuals or institutions leading the effort to change the reality of farming in Africa. It recognises an individual whose farming story has changed from the struggle to survive to a business that thrives. It celebrates Africans who are taking control of Africa’s agriculture agenda.
It began in 2005 as Yara Prize, organised by Yara International ASA in Norway. Then, it began as a way to honor achievements in African agriculture. Next, in 2016, Yara Prize was renamed the Africa Food Prize in a bit to give it a distinctive African identity and ownership.
Today, it awards a total price of $100,000, a diploma and a trophy. More than one person can receive the award, but not more than two can be a winner. If shared, each winner will receive equal prize money ($100,000 divided into two).
Hurry up to nominate here.
