First, we want to congratulate you on
your taking the first step to realize your dream to become a certified SDGs
Social Entrepreneur. In September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to 17
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations to end poverty,
protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Now, we need a revolution in
the way we think about Sustainable Development if we are to deliver such an
ambitious agenda by 2030. This course SDGs-PRENEURSHIP therefore is designed to
catalyze that revolution by provoking thinkers, policy-makers, civil societies
leaders, women and youths and all activists into the practical dimensions of
how to turn the Global Goals into local sustainable businesses for the peace
and prosperity of the earth and all mankind.
It is an obvious dictum and a true
saying that; “the abuse of a thing, system or principle is inevitable if the
purpose is not fully known or appreciated.” Thus, in order to fully harness
the global opportunities offer by the UN Global Goals otherwise termed SDGs-
Sustainable Development Goals, we have deliberately designed this course coded:
SKILLS FOR SDGs- PRENEURSHIP, to provoke new thinking and habits of
transforming the theoretical frameworks into practical expressions to meet the
social challenges of our time. Through this well package course of studies, you
shall be exposed to and be well grounded in the schools of social
entrepreneurship through the various potentials and opportunities presented by
the SDGs. Thus, in line with the mandate of the UN Sustainable Development Goals,
