CALL FOR INNOVATIONS- PARIS FORUM 2021

APPLY TO OUR CALL FOR PROJECTS NOW THROUGH 9 MAY!

Become a project leader of the Paris Peace Forum! Don't miss the opportunity to develop your initiative and join us at our fourth edition from 11 to 13 November.

In November 2021, the Paris Peace Forum will focus on spurring a more inclusive recovery and offering initiatives to better tend to global challenges and global commons.

Each year, governance projects proposing concrete solutions to global challenges are invited to the Forum’s Space for Solutions and contribute to debates. The solutions highlighted at the Forum are beyond the conception stage and stand out by their international and cooperative dimension, and their capacity to create sustainable change in global governance. Due to the uncertainties linked to the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, project leaders’ participation at the fourth edition of the Forum could be physical (hybrid), or virtual.

What type of projects are we looking for? We support concrete projects that are either normative (instruments of law, standards and good practices) or capacity-building (new mechanisms, institutions and solutions) and bring innovative solutions to tackle global challenges.

Who can apply? We welcome applications from all actors of global governance, such as international organizations, local governments, non-governmental organizations, states, companies, foundations, development agencies, religious groups, trade unions, think tanks and universities.

  • 😷 Protecting the civic space in times of Covid-19
  • ♀️♂️ Achieving equality between men and women

  • By presenting it to diverse audiences, through a pitch presentation, as part of a debate, or by scheduling meetings with other participants at your stand
  • By connecting with potential partners: senior representatives from participating governments, international organizations, NGOs, companies, philanthropists, experts, journalists, etc.

Call for Expressions of Interest: Women’s Economic Empowerment in a Low-Carbon COVID-19 Recovery

Call for Expressions of Interest: Women Economic Empowerment in a Low-Carbon COVID-19 Recovery

Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is pleased to announce a new research funding opportunity, implemented through its Sustainable Inclusive Economies division. This call for expressions of interest aims to advance the generation and use of context-specific evidence that can contribute to women’s increased economic empowerment in the Global South, in the context of lower-income countries’ responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and growing climate crisis.

Scope and Eligibility

This CAD$ 10 million call is made available through an open competitive process targeting organizations based in low- and lower-middle-income countries, in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, South and South-East Asia, and the Middle East. It is designed for organizations that will contribute to building more inclusive and sustainable pandemic responses and recovery in low- and lower-middle-income countries and will support solutions-oriented research that addresses the following research questions:

  • In COVID-19 responses and recovery, what policy responses, interventions, business and investment initiatives, and women-led actions and organizations can effectively support women’s economic empowerment through the provision of inclusive and decent employment opportunities while addressing the growing climate crisis and creating a pathway for a climate-resilient economy? Which interventions and solutions have the potential for scale?
  • What policies, business and investment initiatives, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises can promote women’s opportunities in sectors that have the highest potential to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon economy, such as energy, transport, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and natural resource conservation?
  • What policies, business, and innovative finance initiatives can promote cross-border trade and value chains that promote quality opportunities for women while contributing to decarbonization and climate resilience?
  • How can the transition to sustainable production and green jobs accelerate the COVID-19 recovery, and that create economic opportunities for women? What public policies and incentives can support these?
