SCHOOL OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION: LET US LEARN THE A B C & 1 2 3 OF THE GLOBAL GOALS -SDGs

LEARNING THE A, B, C AND 1, 2, 3 OF THE SDGS GLOBAL GOALS) Called from the BOOK: A B C & 1 2 3 OF THE SDGs CAMPAIGNS and could be accessed at https://www.amazon.com/author/amosobi “The Global Goals can “Propel us a healthy planet” - Ban Ki-moon – The immediate out gone UN Secretary General in his last United Nations Day Message. At the inception, the UN goal and aim was by 2017 to make sure 2 Billion people are aware of the SDGs, that is, 29% of the world population. And that 700,000 (0.01%) people are serving as active advocates for the SDGs who could articulate about them well and take a related action. Thus and behold, in line with the above reasoning, and as being propelled by the force and burden for a change, and towards “ensuring that no one is left behind for an expected inclusive world in 2030, we have been inspired to put forth this simplified action plan. This we do in the consciousness of the fact that the 2030 Agenda will only be meaningful if it is relevant to and “owned” by the people who are most often left behind. By our putting forth this initiative and campaigns on the A, B, C and 1, 2, 3 of the SDGs, we are acknowledging that traditional and previous means of implementation need to be complemented by participatory mechanisms that genuinely facilitate a people-centered, inclusive approach in actualizing the 2030 Agenda. Our work, therefore, is targeted at global grass-root citizenry education and mobilization towards individual and group actions in achieving the 17 Global Goals for a world transformational move. This we have deliberately created as an example of private public partnering initiatives championed by concerned individuals as well as private efforts as a commitment in driving the Global Goals. In the 2030 Agenda, paragraph 53, we are told, “The future of humanity and of our planet lies in our hands”. However, it lies particularly so in the hands of today’s younger generation who will pass the torch of sustainable development to future generations. And with 65 out of the 169 SDGS targets focusing on the interest of younger people’s empowerment, participation and/or well- being, we have deliberately simplified the presentation of these strategies as a way of making sure that the grass-root children and youths are not left behind. But to start with, let us try to understand the A, B, C and 1, 2, 3 of the SDGs with a clear definition of the term “Sustainable Development” in the light of the UNITED NATIONS Global Goals. The A, B, C of the SDGs Campaigns Made Easy Now, for a simplified understanding by all, let us explore and discover the meaning, dimensions, applications and implications of the SDGs for the totality of mankind and the earth. But, to start with, let us x-ray the A, B, C, D and E of the SDGs as: A-All accepting the SDGs as every body’s Goals and Agenda for a renewed and transformed world, B- Building corporate and individual bridges and actions with partnership towards achieving the UN 2030 Agenda through the SDGs. C- Commitment of Time, Energy and Resources by all is needed to actualizing the 169 Targets of the SDGs, D- Demanding regular feedbacks from all stakeholders-leaders at Local, State, National, Regional and at the Global levels is a mandatory requirement for accountability and healthy implementations of the SDGs, But for this to be feasible and realistic, we suggest that the UN as a matter of urgency, we suggests, appoint SDGs officers throughout the various levels and segments of the society; that is ,from the local, state and national , the regional and global levels for monitoring , collation and reporting accordingly and for healthy compliance by all. E- Engaging and equipping the people by the leaders frequently could enhance proper channel of communication and as well as assessment of the progress of implementation, compliance and results, F- Follow-up mechanisms on the implementations of the 17 SDGs must be strategically put in place at the grass-root and all urban setting for accountability and results assessments, G- Global goals with 169 targets must be made clear and made known to all as the driving units of the SDGs, H- Honoring SDGs heroes at the grass-root, local, national, regional and global levels could be real motivational and catalyst for quick achievements of the 2030 Agenda through the SDGs, I-Investing in human capacity building through skills training and technical skills exchange among different stakeholders are major requirements to driving the SDGs and thus, should be the major concern of all leaders and policies implementers, J- Joint agreements and team actions at the local, national, regional and global levels as has been reached must be adhered to avoid gaps and unruly competitions among stakeholders, K-Knowledge and skills are most needed as catalytic tools to drive the SDGs towards actualization of the 2030 Agenda and that is the goal of this project the A, B , C and 1 2 3 on Skills for the Sustainable Development Goals, L- Long and short term goals and planning are needed to create the needed balance towards actualizing the Global Goals without many hitches, M- Measurement and reviews at all levels and at intervals are needed to have focus and to know the progress of achievements at all levels of implementations, N- New strategies and innovations must be sought out and most needed to add impetus and motivation to the move towards achieving the SDGs. As such, we hereby suggest the special consideration on our Inno-Native Design approaches towards local/indigenous technologies acquisitions, contextualization and adoptions as means of attaining poverty and hunger eradication globally especially among the least developing nations , O- Opportunities and privileges created by the introduction of the Global Goals should be made bare and all inclusive to all for full participation, P- Partnership for People and Planet earth welfare and concern should be the highest concern and motivation on actions to actualizing the 169 Targets of the SDGs, Q- Quest for sustainable living practices towards economic, social and environmental transformation should be the pre-occupation of all citizens of the world, R-Re-cycling and reusable materials like plastics, paper and other wastes materials should be preferred and be encouraged in order to take good climate change actions and preserve the earth from depletion, S- Sustainable use of the soil, forest and ocean through organic agricultural practices must be the first line of action and consideration by all in order to recover and maintain the eco-systems for man, plants and animal survival, T- Teaching technical HETAVAD Skills in our public and private schools and institutions is urgently needed in order to build a robust and sustained culture of development through the environment to reduce the effect of climate change today. Technological skills development and transfer through research and science and technology is key to accelerating the Global Goals as such, must be giving priority and adequate budgeting by all local, national, regional and international bodies in order to achieve the 2030 Agenda within the time frame, U- Universally acceptable solutions and methodologies from various localities must be selected, reproduced and duplicated for global communities’ benefits in order to reduce poverty, extreme hunger, injustices and inequalities especially among the developing nations of the world, V- Volunteering of skilled personnels to different parts of the world must be encouraged and engaged as a productive dimension towards multiplying skills for the SDGs achievements, W-Worldwide simplified methods of communicating the Global Goals such as the A B C and 1 2 3 on Skills for the SDGs must be invented, introduced and encouraged for mass education and mobilization on the SDGs in order for non to be left behind, X- X-raying and strategic best practices in Sustainable living and practices must be taught and introduce into schools curriculum all over the world in order to have a re-orientations from unsustainable practices among the people of the world towards building resilient cities and nations of the world, Y-You must think, pray and act for the Global Goals every day towards a transformed world by 2030, which is the demand on all by the UN 2030 Agenda, Z-Zealously pursuing the Global Goals through the SDGs and the 169 Targets should be the pre-occupation of all concerned world citizens. And your zeal for the Global Goals through the SDGs could be handsomely rewarded as a SDGs Hereon or Ambassador. Yes! You could INVENT or CREATE or INNOVATE or Be involved through PARTNERSHIP.
