Awards!

Earlier this year, 11 countries were
recognized with the prestigious UN Public Service Awards for their initiatives
advancing the global goals. From improving the health and living conditions of
over 200,000 people in Kenya, to providing better access to medication in
Argentina, and low-cost solar energy in Thailand; these were just some of the
projects that were presented with this esteemed prize. Time has now come to
submit nominations for 2020 and UN DESA is calling for nominations. Does your
public institution have an innovative solution to improve public service
delivery for the SDGs?
Do you know of any innovative
public-service initiatives that contribute to the implementation of the 2030
Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs)? Then nominate them for the 2020 United Nations Public Service
Awards (UNPSA)!
The annual programme is now open for
applications and UN DESA is calling for nominations. The award aims to promote
and recognize transformative initiatives that foster creativity and innovation
in public services. It is open to all public organizations, including local,
regional and national governments, and public institutions engaged in
public-private partnerships for making people’s lives better. Nominations are
accepted in all six UN official languages.
This year’s awards will recognize
the achievements and contributions of public services in the following five
categories:
- Delivering inclusive and equitable services for all;
- Promoting integrated mechanisms for sustainable
development;
- Developing transparent and accountable public
institutions;
- Promoting digital transformation in public-sector
institutions; and
- Promoting gender responsive public services to achieve
the SDGs.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUMMISSION IS
NOVEMBER 27TH, 2019

The Second Award that could be qualified for is the GLOBAL PRIZE FOR BEST PRACTICES IN SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT to be award in the month of June 2020 but nominations is also now.
This award attracts One Million US Dollars prize money for continuous investment
in Sustainable Development programs.
