2020 SDG PIONEERS PROGRAMS/AWARDS APPLICATION OPENS

2020 SDG PIONEERS  Programe/Award Application Opens

United Nations Global Compact
UNITED NATIONS, New York, 17 February 2020 — As part of its Making Global Goals Local Business campaign, each year the UN Global Compact recognizes a class of SDG Pioneers — business leaders, who are using business as a force for good to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDG Pioneers play an important role in drawing attention to the SDGs and how responsible businesses can contribute to their achievement.
As part of the  Global Compact Local Networks spanning all continents will launch a national search for professionals who are committed to achieving the Global Goals on 17 February 2020
will culminate in to the selection of global SDG Pioneers who will be recognized during the UN General Assembly high-level week in New York in September 2020. The worldwide search for SDG Pioneers among companies participating in the UN Global Compact will build on national searches by 23 Global Compact Local Networks earlier this year, and each winner of a national round will automatically compete in the global round along with other candidates.

AFRICA FOOD PRIZE-NOMINATIONS NOW OPENS

The Africa Food Prize 2020 committee is inviting nominations for individuals or institutions who are delivering improved food security; catalyzing innovation and transformative change in Africa’s agriculture sector. Do not miss out on the opportunity to bring that leading farmer to the limelight.

About The Africa Food Prize

The Africa Food Prize is a preeminent award that recognizes outstanding individuals or institutions leading the effort to change the reality of farming in Africa. It recognises an individual whose farming story has changed from the struggle to survive to a business that thrives. It celebrates Africans who are taking control of Africa’s agriculture agenda.
Besides that, it also puts a spotlight on bold initiatives and technical innovations that can be replicated across the continent to create a new era of food security and economic opportunity for all Africans.
It began in 2005 as Yara Prize, organised by Yara International ASA in Norway. Then, it began as a way to honor achievements in African agriculture. Next, in 2016, Yara Prize was renamed the Africa Food Prize in a bit to give it a distinctive African identity and ownership.
Today, it awards a total price of $100,000, a diploma and a trophy. More than one person can receive the award, but not more than two can be a winner. If shared, each winner will receive equal prize money ($100,000 divided into two).
Hurry up to nominate here.
